Can AI Change The Music You Hear At Your Favourite Café? Tringbox Thinks So, Raises Rs 5 Crore To Make It Happen

Walk into a café on a rainy evening and the music feels different.

Step into a premium gym during peak hours and the energy in the room instantly changes with the soundtrack. Visit a luxury hotel lobby in the morning and the ambience feels carefully curated, almost as if the music understands the environment.

For decades, businesses have relied on manually curated playlists to create these experiences. But as customer expectations evolve and artificial intelligence begins reshaping industries, music too is undergoing a technological transformation.

Mumbai-based music-tech startup Tringbox believes the future of commercial music experiences lies not in static playlists, but in intelligent sound environments that adapt in real time.

Betting on this vision, the startup has raised Rs 5 crore in a seed funding round led by Nikhil Gandhi through GIPL. The round also witnessed participation from MGB Family Office, Paytm Chief Business Officer Narendra Singh Yadav, and several angel investors through One Love Technologies, Tringbox’s parent company.

The fresh capital comes at a time when businesses across hospitality, retail, wellness, and entertainment sectors are increasingly looking for ways to enhance customer engagement and create differentiated experiences.

Turning Music Into Intelligence

Music has always been a powerful tool for businesses.

Restaurants use it to influence dining experiences. Retail stores rely on it to shape shopping behaviour. Gyms use it to energise workouts, while hotels and salons carefully curate playlists to complement their brand identity.

Yet most commercial spaces continue to depend on generic playlists that remain largely unchanged throughout the day.

Tringbox wants to change that.

Founded by former Paytm executive Amandeep Singh Chawla, the startup is building an AI-powered in-store music intelligence platform designed specifically for commercial venues such as cafés, restaurants, gyms, salons, retail stores, clinics, hotels, and other customer-facing spaces.

Rather than simply playing songs, the platform analyses multiple environmental and contextual factors to determine what kind of music should be played at any given moment.

The idea is simple but ambitious: make music smarter.

When Weather, Time And Environment Shape Playlists

At the heart of Tringbox’s technology lies its proprietary Hybrid Neuro-Symbolic Music Engine.

The system is designed to dynamically adapt music based on real-world conditions, including venue type, weather patterns, temperature, time of day, and customer environment.

For example, the soundtrack playing inside a café on a relaxed Sunday afternoon could be completely different from what customers hear during a busy weekday rush.

Similarly, a gym may require high-energy music during peak workout hours, while a premium retail outlet may prefer calmer, mood-enhancing tracks depending on customer footfall and shopping patterns.

To achieve this, the platform analyses several audio characteristics including tempo, rhythm, energy levels, loudness, and harmonic stability.

The result is a context-aware music experience designed to align with the atmosphere businesses want to create.

As brands increasingly focus on customer experience as a key differentiator, such intelligent audio systems could become an important part of how businesses engage visitors and influence behaviour.

From Stealth Mode To Commercial Deployments

While many startups choose to launch publicly early in their journey, Tringbox spent the last year quietly building and testing its technology.

Operating largely in stealth mode, the company focused on validating its product and deployment model before entering the broader market.

According to the startup, its platform has already been deployed across more than 30 commercial venues.

These early deployments have allowed the company to refine its technology while demonstrating how AI-driven music intelligence can be applied across different business environments.

The successful implementation across multiple locations also provides an early indication of demand for personalised audio experiences in commercial spaces.

Beyond Background Music

Tringbox is not limiting itself to enterprise music management alone.

The startup also operates a QR-based song request platform targeted at restaurants, bars, clubs, and entertainment venues.

The feature allows customers to request songs directly through a QR code, creating a more interactive and engaging experience.

However, unlike traditional open-request systems that can quickly become chaotic, venue operators retain control over what gets played.

The platform uses AI-powered moderation tools that balance customer participation with venue preferences, ensuring that the music remains aligned with the brand’s desired ambience.

This combination of customer interaction and operational control offers businesses a new way to engage audiences without compromising the overall experience.

Backed By Industry Leaders And AI Ecosystems

Alongside fresh funding, Tringbox has also secured support from some of the world’s leading technology ecosystems.

The startup is backed by NVIDIA Inception and has received AWS startup credits worth Rs 1 crore.

These partnerships provide access to advanced AI tools, technical guidance, cloud infrastructure, and resources that can accelerate product development and deployment.

For an AI-first startup working on real-time music intelligence, access to such infrastructure can play a critical role in scaling operations efficiently.

What’s Next?

With the new funding in place, Tringbox plans to strengthen its technology platform, expand its intelligent speaker network, and accelerate deployments across premium venues in India.

The company will channel the fresh capital into product development while building a larger footprint across commercial spaces that are increasingly investing in customer experience technologies.

As artificial intelligence continues to move beyond traditional applications and into everyday environments, startups like Tringbox are exploring entirely new categories where technology can create meaningful impact.

And if the company succeeds in its vision, the next time someone walks into a café, gym, salon, or hotel, the music playing in the background may no longer be chosen by a playlist curator alone—it could be selected by AI that understands the room better than anyone else.
